Definition on Primary Industries: Include palm oil, rubber, timber, pepper and kenaf; or other agricommodity decided by the Government to be placed underthe purview of MPI from time to time.

  • To strengthen primary industries’ competitiveness through production of high value added products, conforming to current and future quality, environmental, health and safety standards.
  • To optimize primary industries products’ Research, Development and Commercialization capabilities and effectiveness through promotion of innovation and local talent.
  • To magnify primary industries’ contributions to Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth that catalyze the socio-economic development.
  • To accelerate and retain high impact investment growth along the primary industry value chains.
  • To shape consumer trend of primary industry’s products as the preferred choice domestically and globally.
